This project was carried out for the department of ASTRA of Indian Institute of Science. The project was carried out for Tumkur district of Karnataka. The task involved digitization of 1:50,000 scale data of village boundaries, transportation network for entire Tumkur district.
Primary field data related to household information in selected clusters of villages was collected and incorporated into the GIS database. Various selection criteria were applied to select the most suitable villages for implementation of the project.
